Germany opposes Chat Control
Today is a great day for privacy! Germany will oppose the Chat Control legislation. This will prevent it from gaining a majority in the EU council, at least for now.
Chat Control is proposed legislation that would effectively enable widespread monitoring of private conversations under the guise of preventing child sexual abuse. Anyone clever enough will understand that this is just an excuse; pedophiles are known to authorities and are listed in lists & files that everyone knows about but nobody releases to the public. They want mass surveillance and the abolition of any notion of privacy!

Some thoughts on self-sovereignty
The journey to self-sovereignty begins by removing the magnificent seven (Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Meta, etc) from your life.
It’s not like I “hate” these specific companies… It’s just that when we rely to much on an entity that operates outside of our control, we surrender some of our autonomy. I still rely a lot on these companies (for example even my contacts are in Google Contacts), but I intent to change that.
