When you don’t need to respect

In my life, I came to realize that you can - and should - be disrespectful for a lot of entities (people, institutions, etc). But you need to learn to be respectful to all at first, before you selectively become disrespectful. This needs to be a conscious choice.

You cannot be raised to act with disrespect to all people and then gradually become respectful to a selection of worthy people. This doesn’t work.

So raise your kids to be respectful even to those not worthy, and as they grow, teach them how to decide who to respect and who not.
